Honduras Bible study

Effective ministry and mission work is a team effort. Jan and I have shared ministry and mission work for 55 years! Countless people have encouraged us, supported us, loved us, and prayed for us. In addition to the customary "Brother Bob" or "Hermano Bob," I am also known as dad and papa (pa-paw). One of my favorite breakfasts is huevos fritos, frijoles, and tortillas, with hot sauce and a cup of rich coffee! The greatest joy of my life is being part of the kingdom of Jesus my King. My #1 priority is to advance "kingdom things" and to help develop authentic "kingdom people." I seek to share the Good News about Jesus everywhere I go, helping people find Jesus and helping people mature as disciples of Jesus. One of the greatest blessings of my life is to be loved by many people around the world!

ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THIS SITE

Since my retirement from the university and local church work over fifteen years ago, I have been actively involved in mission work across Latin America. In addition to serving as director of Latin American Leadership Development (LALD), I have served as chairman of the board of directors of Baxter Institute in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and have traveled extensively throughout Latin America, facilitating the work of national church workers, training and assisting in the naming of indigenous and national leaders, and presenting seminars focused on evangelism, discipleship, and Bible study.

When the pandemic and its restrictions temporarily stopped international travel, online teaching and preaching opportunities multiplied. In 2023, I resumed international travel, making five trips, while continuing to maintain an active online teaching schedule.
Along the way, Jan and I have aged! In 2024, we will celebrate our 76th and 77th birthdays, and our 55th wedding anniversary.

Toward the end of 2023, I announced my intention to step back from the super intense schedule of activities and travel. I am trying to lessen my involvement in mission work and ministry, accepting fewer invitations and focusing on activities with greatest benefit and impact. The work of Latin American Leadership Development continues, with increased commitments in 2024. A transition plan will be developed so that ongoing projects of Latin American Leadership Development will be transferred to local churches. The goal is to complete the transition in the next 4-5 years, by 2027-2028, our 80th birthdays.

The decision to slow down causes me also to think about the future of this website.

I will begin a transitional process that will eventually result in a more "static" site with a limited number of posts. The contents of this site will continue to be available during the transition. The current goal is to close the site, perhaps as early as the end of 2026, most certainly by 2027-2028.

The materials available on this site are available for download without charge. Readers are encouraged to download and save items of interest. My only request has always been that copyright laws be respected and that credit be given when items are shared or reposted.

Even after the site is deleted, the content of the site will be backed up and may be available upon request. With any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
