Preaching in Pilanqui

Ministry is always a team effort--Jan and I have shared the work of ministry and missions for 48+ years! Countless others have encouraged us, supported us, loved us, and prayed for us. In addition to the customary "Brother Bob," I am also known as dad and papaw. My favorite breakfast is huevos fritos, frijoles, and tortillas, with a good hot sauce and a cup of quality coffee! My greatest joy in life is being part of the kingdom; my #1 priority is to advance "kingdom things" and help develop authentic "kingdom people." I seek to serve and share the good news about Jesus everywhere I go, helping people find Jesus and helping people mature in Jesus. One of the greatest blessings of my life is to be loved by countless people around the world!

About Us

A Note from Bob

Thanks again for visiting us online. While these pages generally have my name on them, the ministry has always been ours--Jan and I have shared almost 50 years of ministry and are still counting.
In 2010, we concluded our full-time work in church ministry. We made that decision so that we could expand our ministry in church consulting, seminars and workshops, evangelism training series, and mission activities. We are now scheduling for 2018 and 2019, although a few spots remain in 2017. Contact me if you would like to schedule a seminar or other event.

Hard to believe! Where did the time go? Beginning in 1967 while I was still in college, for 43 years I preached almost every Sunday. Officially "retired," Jan and I are now members of the Park Plaza church in Tulsa, although we spend much of our time in ministry and mission work away from the local church as we travel and minister in various places around the world.
I have been marvelously blessed by God! I am able to continue my ministry through writing, teaching and preaching, church consulting, and conducting seminars in ministry, leadership development, teacher training, and evangelism. I continue to research and write. Most of all, I have time to be involved in mission work, primarily in Latin America, leading mission trips and participating in seminars, workshops, campaigns, preacher training, and various teaching activities. Along the way, I serve as adjunct professor when opportunities come and answer invitations to speak and help in various churches.

Growing up in Kansas, Jan and I had no idea that God would take us around the world as kingdom servants. We have been privileged to preach, teach, and work in over half of the United States and internationally in 18 countries. God is SO good!

  • A Little of Our Story
Bob served as Professor of Bible and Ministry and Director of the Bible program at Ohio Valley College, now Ohio Valley University from 1995-2002. During his tenure at OVU he also served as Dean of Service Learning. From 1999-2001 he served as Executive Vice President, and from 2001-2002 as Senior Vice President for Administrative Services. In 2002 he and Jan resigned from their work at OVU to return to the center of the US to be closer to aging parents.

Prior to his work at OVU, Bob served as a full-time minister for 25 years. Almost 20 of those years were spent with the Holmes Road Church of Christ in Lansing, Michigan (1976-1987) and with the Fort Gibson Church of Christ in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma (1987-1995). While at Ohio Valley, he had the privilege of preaching in more than 150 churches. His interest in interim ministry began during this time as he served as an interim minister in local congregations.

After Bob and Jan moved back to the center of the U.S. to be nearer aging parents, Bob preached briefly at the Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ in McAlester, Oklahoma, and then served as director of graduate Bible programs in the Graduate School of Theology at Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City. In the fall of 2007, he and Jan returned to McAlester to minister with the Main and Oklahoma church in a second season. In early 2010 Bob concluded his work as pulpit minister with the church in order to expand his work in ministry and missions.
